Robbery Victim Target Of Gun Attack While Reporting Crime: Cops

The victim of the robbery — and the gun attack — emerged unscathed, police said.

BEDFORD, MA — The victim of a robbery was shot at by their assailant while reporting the crime to the law, police said.

Bedford police were called out to investigate a shooting near the intersection of Old Billerica and Burlington roads shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday and found several shell casings in the area, the Bedford Police Department said in a media release.

"A preliminary investigation determined that an incident involving an alleged robbery originated in Lowell and subsequently spread into Bedford," the release said. "During the incident, the suspect, who was seen driving a white Mercedes, shot at the victim's vehicle. The victim was in the process of reporting the robbery to the police when their car was shot at."

The victim of the robbery — and the gun attack — escaped without injury, according to police, who are seeking the shooter.

"Anyone with information regarding this incident, including those who witnessed a white Mercedes leaving the area around 1 a.m., is asked to contact Bedford Police Detectives at 781-275-1212," the release said.
