Suspect Charged with Bedford Bank Robbery

The Brookline Bank in Bedford was robbed Sept. 18. Police took a suspect into custody in Salem Monday.

A suspect has been arrested in connection to a robbery at the Brookline Bank in Bedford last month.

Patrick Gefrich, 35, of Salem, was charged with unarmed robbery after a month-long search for a suspect in the Sept. 18 robbery, Massachusetts State Police announced Monday. Salem Police took Gefrich into custody on Essex Street early Monday morning on Milford District Court warrants.

The suspect, pictured above, was wearing a blonde wig when he robbed Brookline Bank in Bedford Friday at about 10 a.m. A witness saw the suspect escape toward Great Road, police said, and a K-9 tracked his scent to a nearby bike path. But the trail went cold until Gefrich, matching the suspect’s description, was nabbed Monday.
