5 Things: Belmont Against Racism: What's Next?

1. The monthly meeting of Belmont Against Racism is occurring from l7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Belmont Public Library's Staff Room. This month's topic is the future of Belmont Against Racism. BAR is looking for new board members with time to plan program. Issues for discussion include:
• METCO Support Fund.
• How to keep the discussions of race and inclusion continuing in Belmont.

2. The Belmont Council on Aging and the AARP are providing a five-hour refresher driving class from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Beech Street Center for Seniors to stay safe. No written exam! No driving test! Just a great opportunity to better understand the updated tecA certificate of completion will be awarded to all participants. Cost: $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members.

3. Belmont League of Women Voters Board meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Flett Room at the Belmont Public Library.
4. Evening Yoga, taught by professional instructors, is being held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 582 Pleasant St, in Gardiner Hall at the back of the church. $10. All levels welcome just bring your own mat if you can. $6 per child for child care. All proceeds benefit Plymouth Nursery School.
5. On this day in 1966, the Supreme Court issued its landmark Miranda vs. Arizona decision, ruling that criminal suspects must be informed of their constitutional rights prior to questioning by police.
