5 Things: How To Stay In Your House Rather Than Assisted Living
Events occurring in Belmont on Tuesday, June 18.

1. The Beech Street Center is presenting the talk, "How to Stay Home Forever" from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Cindy Tulimieri, OTR/L and Karen DeRosas, MPT, ECHM will discuss ways to prepare your home so that it is accessible for the long term and is an alternative to moving into assisted living. The talk is free.
2. Benton Library's Pre-school Story Time is a 45-minute program geared toward children between 3 and 5. It features a variety of stories, as well as music, finger plays and/or a craft. Parents and caregivers must remain with their preschooler during the program. Sign up is not required. The program begins at 10 a.m.
3. Sing-a-long with Mike and his guitar at Paprika Kids, 404 Trapelo Rd, beginning at 11 a.m. Mike has worked with Belmont kids for some time now, including at the Wellington School and other venues. Come for a fun time with a mix of story time and a sing-a-long.

4. Drop-in yoga classes, taught by professional instructors in the Vinyasa style – flowing with the breath – will be held in Gardner Hall (enter via Alexander Street) of the Plymouth Congregational Church, 582 Pleasant St., beginning at 9:15 a.m. All levels welcome. Bring your own mat. Childcare is available for $6 per child with a $12 family maximum. There is also free parking on Pleasant and Leonard streets and behind Macy's. All proceeds benefit Plymouth Nursery School.
5. On this day in 1815, the Battle of Waterloo was fought in Belgum resulting in the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte by the Duke of Wellington and Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher. The outcome forcing Napoleon to abdicate the throne of France for the second and last time.
