Belmont Duo Named to National High School Orchestra

Belmont High's Sharon Kim, Andrew Park (Class 2014) will perform with the orchestra in March.

The Belmont public schools music program has another accomplishment to be proud of as a pair of Belmont High School senior musicians have made it to the "National" scene.

Violinist Sharon Kim and clarinetist Andrew Park, both from the Class of 2014, were selected to perform in the National High School Honors Orchestra sponsored by the American String Teachers Association.

The National High School Honors Orchestra is a performing group of competitively selected high school musicians who assemble biennially to perform at the ASTA National Conference.

They will be traveling to Louisville, Kentucky in March to perform Dmitri Shostakovich's 5th Symphony with the orchestra.

Kim and Park are two of only seven students from Massachusetts selected to the 100-member orchestra.
