Belmont Police: Pair of Con Men Out and About

Two while males in a dark van asking residents they are finishing some work.

The Belmont Police are advising residents to be aware of two suspects who are utilizing a ruse to enter the homes of potential victims. The suspects are described as two white men driving a dark-colored van.

According to Belmoint Assistant Police Chief James MacIssac, one man will call upon the home owner and tell them he is there to cut trees, put up a fence or to check the water pressure. While he is distracting the home owner, the second male will out-of-sight enter the home and seek items to steal.

Citizens are reminded that reputable contractors rarely solicit business by walking door-to-door.
