Fire At DG Goldsmith Under Control

A fire in a Cushing Square business has brought traffic to a stop in the busy traffic intersection.

A Belmont Fire Department fire truck and ladder unit were stationed outside DG Goldsmith at 451 Common St. after battling a small blaze in the store around 8:15 a.m.  Belmont Police blocked off the street at Trapelo Road.

The fire was quickly controlled and fire units began breaking down the scene at 8:45 a.m.

Traffic began moving through the busy traffic intersection at 8:55 a.m.
