Fire in the dell

Nov. 14 – At 4:16 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to Claflin Street for a brush-and-grass mixture fire.

Nov. 17 – At 2:06 p.m., units were dispatched to McLean Hospital at 115 Mill St. for a cooking fire. Apparently a client burned toast in a toaster.

Outdoor cooking ... not

Nov. 17 – At 9:37 p.m., fire personnel were dispatched to a Dante Avenue house for a resident's complaint concerning an unattended cooking fire on a graded- and cared-for plots of land. Engine 1 extinguished the fire.

Locked out, unlocked

Nov. 18 – At 11:08 a.m., firefighters were dispatched a Hawthorne Street address for a person who locked themselves out of their home. Entry was gained through an unlocked window on the "D" side of the building. No damage was done to the home.

Smoky dish 

Nov. 20 – At 6:04 p.m., units were dispatched to a Lantern Road house for a smoke alarm that was activated. Engine 2, Ladder 1 and other units arrived and found a light smoke condition in the dwelling. It turned out that the smoke was from normal cooking and the system was reset prior to the fire department's arrival.
