Former BPD Officer, Resident Honored By State Police

State Trooper Kevin Baker award cites integrity, intellect and compassion.

Whether he was taking the lead in one of five homicide investigations or helping assistant district attorneys with other high profile and difficult cases being handled by the State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Trooper Kevin Baker is known for his hard work and devotion to the most serious cases happen in the county. 

In honor of his exemplary service to the office of the Middlesex District Attorney, Baker - who grew up in Belmont and was a member of the before joining the state police – was presented with the Massachusetts State Police Latham/Moynihan Award at a ceremony held recently in Woburn, the second time he has been honored with this particular award.

The Latham/Moynihan award is presented to a member of the State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s office who demonstrates not only "an ability to investigate a crime but whose loyalty and support of the common goals of the unit stands at the forefront," notes the citation.

Baker, who is currently a Woburn resident – is assigned to the office’s  Crime Prevention and Control Unit.

“Trooper Baker ...  has earned the respect and admiration from not only his fellow troopers, who nominated him for this award, but the local officers and ADAs that serve with him. Trooper Baker displays the characteristics of integrity, intellect, and compassion that are required for this award,” said Middlesex County District Attorney Gerard T. Leone at the ceremony.
