From 9 to 43: Belmont's Long-Serving Town Meeting Members Honored

Retiring members of the town's legislative body recognized by fellow Town Meeting members.

In what will become an annual event, Belmont Town Meeting honored retired members who served on the legislative body for at least nine years.

In its inaugural ceremony, the former members who have retired since 2010 were invited by the Belmont Town Moderator Michael Widmer to join the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, June 3 to be recognized for their service to the Town of Belmont with many showing up to allow Town Meeting to express its gratitude.  

This recognition ceremony to all Annual Town Meetings for yearly retirements, according to Town Clerk Ellen Cushman.
