• Belmont Adds Two Firefighters Following Rigorous Training (belmontvoice.org) — Belmont is welcoming two new firefighters, military veterans Sean McGillivray and Michael Downing, who have just completed intensive training at the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy after a preparatory “mini academy” in town. Their arrival boosts the Belmont Fire Department with recruits already familiar with local staff and procedures, and trained for today’s broader all-hazards emergencies, from fires to rescues.
