Video Game Fraud Leads To South Carolina

July 13 – At  8:58 a.m., a Grant Avenue resident said someone had used his VISA credit card to purchase $541 worth of video games along with a X-Box that were purchased over the Internet and was shipped to South Carolina. Fortunately, the order was cancelled in time and no money was lost.

Numerous Syringes Found On Grove Street

July 13 – At 5:17 p.m., a police officer at a traffic stop at Grove Street and Huron Avenue was notified by a passerby that here were "needles" on the sidewalk adjacent the Grove Street Field. The officer located 10 syringes at the location.

Domestic A&B Leads To Arrest

July 15 – At 2:43 a.m., officers were sent to a Gilbert Road address for a domestic dispute. The female resident said her husband struck her, resulting in visible injuries. Fire Rescue was called and treated the victim who signed a waiver refusing to be taken to the hospital. She said her husband has been verbally abusive and belligerent. She did say she threw a glass at him who then hit her with a lamp. She declined filing a restraining order. Roy Stuart, 29, of 49 Gilbert Rd, was arrested and booked for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, the lamp.

Custody Dispute Leads To Exchange

July 15 – At 9:18 a.m., a man came to the station with a court order from Illinois giving him full custody of his daughter who was living with his former wife in Belmont. Units were dispatched to a Common Street address but after several attempts did not get an answer. Police investigation discovered the ex-wife could be located in Reading and several calls were made. Units returned to Belmont address to discover that one of the vehicles that had been parked when they were there earlier was now gone. Finally, an attorney negotiated an exchange of the child that occurred at the Common Street address.

Stress Over Stress Release Returns

At July 16 – At 4:14 p.m., a Grant Avenue resident said that a company she bought products from would not give her a refund from returned items. She stated she returned $479 worth of items from the Center for Stress Release within the time period on the sales slip.

Sexual Assault Reported

July 16 – Police took a report at 3:58 p.m. that a sexual assault took place at a Gilbert Road address.

Large Charges In School Street Fraud

July 17 – At 8:39 p.m., a School Street resident reported that someone had been using her credit card without her permission. She said there was three fraudulent charges totaling $23,500. She reported that she has cancelled her credit cards.
