
Haverford College is pleased to announce the graduation of Susanna Sacks, daughter of Marc and Naomi Sacks of Belmont and a graduate of Belmont High School in 2009.
One of 296 members of Haverford’s Class of 2013, Sacks received a bachelor’s degree with honors in English and sociology during commencement ceremonies in Haverford, Pa., on Sunday, May 19.
Sacks’ senior theses, the culmination of the Haverford academic experience, are entitled, “Building a Plot of Belonging: The Poetics of Self and Space in Audre Lorde’s The Black Unicorn” and “A Carnival of One’s Own: Contemporary Rap and the Commercial Appropriation of the Neoliberal Carnivalesque.”

While studying at Haverford, Sacks was co-head of the Student Political Network. She spent the summer of 2010 working with Prof. of English Kim Benston on the production of "Norton's Anthology of Africa-American Poetry."
