The Smallest Storytime, Instrument Rentals, Oom-Pah!
Events occurring in Belmont on Thursday, Sept. 12.

1. Infant Lapsit Storytime at the Belmont Public Library is for infants and pre-walkers. Come enjoy songs, finger plays and rhymes chosen especially for our littlest readers. The fun starts in the Flett Room at 10:30 a.m.
2. If you are looking for a quiet place to get out of today's heat, head over to the Benton Library, Belmont's volunteer-run independent library at the corner of Oakley and Old Middlesex. It's open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., is air conditioned and has wifi.
3. The David French Music Company will be in Belmont to process Elementary/Middle schools instrument rentals for students in third to fifth grade. Between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., students and parents can come to the Belmont High School Cafeteria for complete a rental agreement and take your new instrument home with you.
4. The Belmont Council on Aging still has some room on the Turkey Train to view the fall foliage and Lake Winnipesaukee on Wednesday, Sept. 25. There will be a mystery stop on the way before we board the train. Hart Turkey Farm will serve the turkey dinner on the train. A check for $79.95 per person should be made out to "Best of Times."

5. On this day in 1835, Wilhelm Wieprecht, director of music for the Prussian Guards and inventor, takes out a patent for the tuba.
