The Chapter has set a fundraising goal of more than $1.5 million, which will help fund research to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications.

The Walk is expected to draw an enthusiastic crowd of all ages, driven to support a great cause while enjoying an event that will feature appearances by FOX25 News Anchors Maria Stephanos and Mark Ockerbloom and other talent; live music from The Amalgamates and Standing Room Only; a Kids' Tent featuring Wally the Green Monster, face painting, and sneaker tattoos; food, fun, and more!

"We extend our heartfelt thanks to our corporate sponsors, individual Walkers, Walk Teams, and volunteers for their commitment and dedication to JDRF," said Amy Montalto, Executive Director, JDRF New England Chapter.  "By working together to promote awareness of T1D and raise funds to advance research, we can make a difference for the millions of people who are affected by this disease."

The three-mile Walk will take place rain or shine.  On-site registration begins at 9:30 a.m. in the large check-in tent on the DCR Hatch Shell lawn and the Walk begins at 10:30 a.m.  To learn more about the Boston Walk, visit www.jdrf.org/bostonwalk.  To register or to support a Walker, visit http://walk.jdrf.org.
