Robert Pierce, of Beverly, Mass., captured the $20,000 cash prize in the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation&rsquo;s annual raffle to benefit U.S. Veterans. Pierce, who served three years in the U.S. Army, is a longtime member of Hanscom Federal Credit Union (HFCU) and accepted the big digital cash deposit at his hometown branch with HFCU President &amp; CEO Peter Rice and Olga Kuznetsova, Beverly&rsquo;s Market Manager and Certified Financial Coach, looking on. &ldquo;We are grateful to every HFCU member who entered our raffle because 100 percent of proceeds go to a much-needed cause &ndash; vital transportation and lodging for veterans who seek care at any of Boston&rsquo;s hospitals,&rdquo; said Rice. &ldquo;We are especially pleased to award this year&rsquo;s prize to Robert, who just happens to be a veteran himself. We sincerely thank him for his service and hope this holiday bonus makes for an even brighter Christmas and New Year.&rdquo; Pierce, and his wife, Stella Pierce, plan to increase their charitable contributions with the cash windfall and take a trip to celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary in January. Every single dollar raised from the annual raffle goes directly to Fisher House Boston, a New England-based nonprofit that provides a &ldquo;home away from home&rdquo; for military families while their loved ones receive care at any of Boston&rsquo;s world-renowned medical centers.

Beverly (MA) U.S. Army Veteran wins $20,000 Cash Raffle benefiting  Fisher House Boston

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Care Coordinator to support the caregiving team for a 67-year-old woman with advanced early-onset Alzheimer&rsquo;s in Beverly, MA. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, communicates well, and is comfortable managing schedules and payroll for a small team of caregivers. Must have the flexibility to make some last-minute texts or phone calls to ensure a shift is covered should a caregiver call out last minute.
This position does not involve hands-on caregiving. Instead, you will oversee administrative tasks that ensure smooth, consistent care for the client.
Hours
2&ndash;4 hours per week, flexible schedule (Work can be done remotely with occasional check-ins as needed.)
Pay: Flat Rate $100/week
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling &amp; Staffing
<ul><li>Create and maintain weekly caregiver schedules for 6-8 PCAs/volunteer companions</li><li>Coordinate shift coverage, fill-ins, and schedule adjustments</li><li>Communicate schedule updates to all caregivers</li><li>Ensure adequate coverage for day, evening, and overnight shifts</li></ul>
Payroll &amp; Administrative Support
<ul><li>Collect and verify caregiver weekly timesheets</li><li>Submit or process payroll for 4-5 caregivers (system training provided)</li><li>Track hours, rate differences, and special shift types (e.g., overnight flat rate)</li><li>Maintain organized records of time worked, pay periods, and staffing logs</li></ul>
Care Team Communication
<ul><li>Serve as point-of-contact for caregivers regarding schedule or administrative questions</li><li>Relay important updates to the family and care team</li><li>Support a positive, respectful, and consistent communication environment among caregivers</li></ul>
Qualifications
<ul><li>Prior experience in care coordination, caregiving administration, staffing support, or similar role preferred</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Highly organized with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Comfortable working with basic payroll systems, shared calendars, and digital communication tools</li><li>Reliable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality</li><li>Compassionate and comfortable assisting a team providing care for someone with advanced dementia</li></ul>
About the Client
The coordinator will support the care team for a woman with advanced early-onset Alzheimer&rsquo;s who requires full assistance for daily activities. Caregivers handle hands-on tasks such as feeding, hydration support, transfers (sit-to-stand/Hoyer), toileting, and communication during shift changes.
The Care Coordinator does not perform these tasks but plays a key role in keeping the care environment stable, organized, and supportive.
