2nd Beverly Plane Crash Victim Dies: Essex DA
The second occupant of a single-engine plane that crashed shortly after takeoff from Beverly Airport last week died on Thursday.

BEVERLY, MA — The second occupant of a single-engine plane that crashed shortly after takeoff from Beverly Airport last week died on Monday, the Essex District Attorney's Office confirmed to Patch late Monday afternoon.
The pilot of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday.
The second man, whom the Essex DA's office did not identify on Monday, was Medflighted to an area hospital with what were called "serious injuries."

The pilot, Geoffrey Andrews, 30, of Melrose, was identified as the pilot who died this weekend.
Andrews was set to become a father as his wife, Gentry, is pregnant. His family released a statement following his death about how their loved one was a special person beyond his talent and passion for flying.

“He was almost always seen sporting a bow tie and a smile," the statement said. "He loved cooking, baking, nature, was a talented amateur photographer and was oddly passionate about SCUBA diving.
"He loved music, often played piano, and sang in choirs for much of his life, including with Gentry."
The pilot's family has since set up a GoFundMe page to support his widow and her upcoming motherhood.
