5 Things to Start the Day: Oct. 8

Here are five things to start your day in Beverly:

1. Happy Columbus Day: Check out who's open and closed for the holiday, and take our quiz to test your Columbus Day knowldege. 

2. Now through Friday, October 19 drop off your family’s like-new winter coats, snow pants, clothing, winter boots and sneakers for children, infant to 12 years old, at Next Generation Child Care Center, to benefit Cradles to Crayons, a Boston based non-profit, providing children from birth through age12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school and at play.
