5 Things To Know Today, Feb. 6: Monsteratures at Beverly Public Library

Here are five things to start your day in Beverly:

1. Did you know: Beverly Public Library is hosting “Monsteratures,” an art exhibit by Beverly native Robert MacPhail during the month of February. The exhibit comprises portraits featuring characters from the classic monster movies of the 1930s to 1950s starring Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi and others. MacPhail’s artwork is created in the tradition of “House Art,” a style once used by art staff in urban American movie houses to entice customers. The works in “Monsteratures” are hand-lettered using oil paint on wood panels.

2. Need a Valentine's Day gift from the kidsClay Dreaming Pottery Studio on Cabot Street announced on their Facebook page that they have Valentine's Day items and a new shipment of other fun pieces to paint.
