5 Things To Know Today, March 1: BHS Students Attend All-State Music Fest This Weekend
Watershed Photo Contest, mega sale at North Shore thrift shop and more Beverly news tidbits.

Here are five things to start your day in Beverly:
1. Seven students will be representing Beverly High at the 59th Massachusetts Music Educators Association All-State Music Festival this weekend. The students arrived at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston yesterday to start two and a half days of rehearsal, culminating in a concert at Symphony Hall on Saturday. The students are Peter Fickenwirth (tuba), Samuel Johnson (French horn),and Mikayla Bishop, Rachel Forbes, Sophie Israelsohn, Zack Kirsch and Theresa Orr all in the chorus. All of these students auditioned a the Senior District level and then were recommended for an All-State audition. Go, Panthers!
2. Watershed Photo Contest, “Salem Sound-A Sense of Place” has been continued through March 18, 2013. In Beverly, suggested sites for photos includes Beverly: Bass River, Shoe Pond, Obear Park, Centerville Brook & wetlands, and Chubbs Creek wetlands.
