2 Dead In Apparent Beverly Murder-Suicide: Essex DA

Police were investigating the death of a man and a woman on Colonial Drive on Monday night.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly police and detectives from the Essex County District Attorney's Office were investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a home on Colonial Drive on Monday.

Police arrived at the home at about 9:40 p.m. and discovered a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur said there is no greater threat to the public in relation to this incident.

Pending next-of-kin notifications, the identity of the deceased individuals will not be released, according to the DA's Office.
