Beverly 'Biggest Holiday Parade Ever' To Celebrate Service To The Community

Jan and Don Preston are the grand marshals for the parade set to kick off from Beverly High School on Sunday.

BEVERLY, MA — Organizers are calling this year's Beverly Holiday Parade the largest in event history with more than 80 floats and participating groups.

The parade is set for Nov. 30 with a rain date of Dec. 7.

This year's grand marshals are Jan and Don Preston with the theme being "Service to the Community" as a call to care for neighbors in Beverly and around the globe.

US Postal letter carriers will collect children’s letters to Santa Claus along the parade route.

The event takes off from the Bevely High School parking lot at 100 Sohier Road at 1 p.m.

Parking is available at the Beverly Middle School, 502 Cabot Street, a 10-minute walk from Beverly High School and just a half-mile away.

The Beverly High School parking lot opens at 10 a.m. to parade vehicles only. Restrooms are available at the high school.

The parade route covers 1.8 miles of paved, flat streets with no significant hills. The parade travels down Herrick Street, with a left on Cabot street, right on Railroad Avenue at City Hall and then ends at the Beverly Depot train stations. Bus service is available back to the high school.

No pick-up vehicles are permitted at the finish area, except for marching band buses. Breakdown of floats should be done at Beverly High School. Parents may pick up children at Beverly High School.

The parade route and access roads will be closed on the morning and afternoon of the event. The Sohier Road access from Route 128 to Beverly High School staging area will remain open all day.
