UPDATE: Threats Investigated at Beverly High; Students and Staff Never in Danger

Police say threats were investigated, but at no time was there a danger to students or staff.

BEVERLY, MA - Students at Beverly High School were dismissed early Friday morning as police investigated a possible threat that was made against the school on Thursday.

Lt. Philip McCarthy said the students were dismissed to make sure everyone remains safe, and that there was no danger.

Officers from the Beverly department, as well as other law enforcement agencies investigated the threats, and have determined that at no time were students or faculty in danger.

The alleged parties involved have been identified and located by police, according to a message sent out by Beverly High School Principal Gallagher.

The decision to dismiss the students early at the high school was made by city and school officials out of an abundance of caution, according to police.

No other schools in Beverly were dismissed early on Friday.
