Beverly Celebrated For Workforce 'Inclusion' Efforts

The city was recognized at Triangle, Inc.'s Annual Awards Ceremony and Fundraiser in Peabody.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly was recognized for earning the first "Inclusion Community" designation from Triangle, Inc. at the nonprofit's annual awards ceremony and fundraiser in Peabody.

The Malden-based Triangle offers comprehensive programs providing employment and independent living skills for people with disabilities.

Beverly hired a crew of Triangle program participants from the Salem site to work with the city’s Department of Public Works. This partnership allows people with disabilities to build job skills in supported, integrated, and community-based projects alongside their municipal employees.

"Each of our award winners tonight stand as a testament to the community partnerships that are vital to meeting our mission in supporting people with disabilities," said Triangle, Inc. CEO Rachel Kaprielian.

The event at Olio raised more than $100,000 to help provide services to about 2,960 people with disabilities across Triangle, Inc.'s programs. About 150 attended the event, which included 10 food partners, five bar partners, a live painting by local artist Natalia Mirabito and an auction.

Senator Edward Markey received the Public Official of the Year Award at a private meeting in his Boston office.

The Department of Conservation & Recreation's Universal Access Program received the Carmella Gregorie Disability Advocate Award.

Marilyn Pires, a Triangle Day Services program participant at Triangle’s Randolph site, received the Triangle Achievement Award.
