Beverly Police Log: Drugs On The Field, Rental Scam
Don't throw stones at houses, beach fires are fun on TV but mostly illegal in real life, and more from the Beverly Police log.

- Police responded to a report of a stolen car on River Street on Tuesday around 7 p.m., but found the car had just been moved.
- Officers responded to a report of a man "screaming at the top of his lungs" around 4 a.m. on Thursday on Rantoul Street. Police found he was screaming and playing loud music, but agreed to be quiet.
- Someone reported a scam in which a scammer posted a Dodge Street home for rent online on Thursday afternoon. The reporting party didn't send money before reporting the scam to police, and the real owner of the home confirmed the scam.
- Police responded to a report of an altercation in a grocery store. One half of the altercation reportedly followed the other half home on Thursday around 2 p.m.
- Peter J. Hadley, 41, of Peabody, was arrested on charges of possession of a class A drug on Thursday around 5 p.m. after police responded to a car accident on Cabot Street.
- Officers took a report of someone smoking pot on a Cabot Street playground on Thursday around 7 p.m., but the person was gone when police arrived.
- The Beverly Fire Department put out a beach fire at the end on Water Street on Friday around 9 p.m. Police told the youths on scene that beach fires are not allowed.
- Valnardia Novas, 21, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of destruction of property and driving to endanger on Monday around 5:30 p.m. after police responded to a report of a road rage incident on Railroad Avenue.
- Police responded to a report of three young men throwing rocks at a home on Leech Street on Monday around 8:30 p.m.
