Homeless Man Charged With Disturbing the Peace

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log: 

Monday, June 9: 

  • At 4:22 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Essex Street.
  • At 4:51 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Tozer Road.
  • At 6:46 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man on Herrick Street.
  • At 7:26 p.m., police responded to a past vandalism on Roundy Street.
  • At 8:24 p.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm on Roundy Street.
  • At 10:06 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Herrick Street.
  • At 10:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a dog struck by a hit-and-run driver on Bridge Street.
  • At 11:09 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Tozer Road.

Tuesday, June 10: 

  • At 12:38 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rantoul Street.
  • At 9:00 a.m., police attempted to serve a warrant on Elliott Street.
  • At 12:00 p.m., police attempted to serve a warrant on Courtney Drive.
  • At 12:12 p.m., police responded to a panhandling complaint on Cherry Hill Drive.
  • At 1:40 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Dodge Street.
  • At 2:41 p.m., police responded to a panhandling complaint near the intersection of Dodge Street and Morningside Drive.
  • At 5:23 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Ober Street.

Mathew J. Birch, 21, of 1 Youngs Road, Gloucester, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Michael J. Murphy, 50, of the streets of Beverly, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.
