Beverly Tops $5 Million In Grants For First Half Of 2025
Grants include a $3.5 million Mass Works Grant to support the Rte. 128/Exit 19 infrastructure project at Brimbal Avenue and Dunham Road.
BEVERLY, MA — Beverly topped the $5 million mark in federal, state and county grants to support or pay for a dozen projects across the city through the first six months of 2025.
"We appreciate all the grant funding that is awarded to support the city of Beverly," Beverly Director of Grants Catherine Barrett told Patch. "Grants are a critical source of supplemental revenue for city projects, programs and initiatives and reduce the strain on the annual municipal budget. Thanks to all the municipal staff for their collaborative efforts to secure grants."

- $453,435 U.S. Department of Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration grant to the Beverly Regional Airport to purchase a snow removal vehicle
- $3.5 Million Mass Works Grant to support Rte. 128/Exit 19 infrastructure project at Brimbal Avenue and Dunham Road.
- $499,974 Complete Streets Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). This grant will allow the City to make the next phase of improvements to Cabot Street from Pond Street to West Dane/Dane Street.
- $23,400 Essex County Outreach Grant to support the Northeast Essex County Training and Technical Assistance Center (TTAC) - Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) Program which is operated at the Beverly Police Department.
- $91,178 Community Compact Cabinet (CCC) IT grant through the Executive Office of Administration and Finance to support IT hardware purchases.
- $12,500 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) and the Department of Fire Services (DFS).
- $9,800 Student Awareness of Fire Education (SAFE) and a Senior SAFE grant for from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) – Department of Fire Services (DFS) for youth and senior citizen fire safety education.
- $1,300 grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts MED-Project Drug Stewardship Program for safe drug disposal.
- $25,000 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) to purchase turnout gear for the Beverly Fire Department.
- $8,500 grant from the Department of Fish & Game: Division of Marine Fisheries – Clean Vessel Act Grant Program to support the free seasonal pump out boat service.
- $349,272 grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) to purchase a new 27’ patrol cabin boat for the Beverly Harbormaster department.
- $163,964 911 Support and Incentive Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety (EOPSS) and Security/Office of Grants and Research (OGR). This grant funding will be used by the Beverly Police Department to assist public safety dispatch services in providing enhanced 9-1-1 service.
- $137,749.54 911 Department Training Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety (EOPSS) and Security/Office of Grants and Research (OGR). This grant funding will be used by the Beverly Police Department for 911 training courses and overtime costs coverage as well as for training meeting space.
