Beverly YMCA Wanderlust Ball Raises $1.5M For North Shore Programs

The annual event drew more than 475 guests for an enchanted evening at the Greater Beverly YMCA.

BEVERLY, MA — More than 475 guests came together to raise more than $1.5 million for YMCA of the North Shore programs during its biggest fundraiser of the year — the annual Wanderlust Ball.

The Greater Beverly YMCA campus was transformed into a enchanted venue with music from Booty Vortez and a program of speakers and honorees.

"Once again, the Wanderlust Ball has proven to be a testament to the power of community, bringing together like-minded individuals whose belief in what the Y can do to support our neighbors across the North Shore and into Southern New Hampshire is unwavering," said Marge Cregg, Chief Advancement Officer, YMCA of the North Shore said. "This incredible philanthropic spirit will help the Y support the ever-growing and diverse needs of all the individuals, families, and children we serve."

The evening celebrated Honorary Chairs and Manchester-by-the-Sea residents Kathy and Brian Hines who have a long history with the Y and a long-standing commitment to the Y’s mission. Brian Hines has served in various roles including Association board member, and member of committees including Affordable Housing; Board Development; Executive; Financial Development, and Real Estate, for which he served as Chair. Kathy joined Brian as co-chair of our Gala in 2012, and over the years they remained dedicated Gala Host committee members helping to fill the room with engaged donors and supporters.

"We are incredibly grateful to our Honorary Chairs, Kathy and Brian, who have been so supportive of our Y for so many years," YMCA of the North Shore CEO Chris Lovasco. "It's been a privilege to work with Brian in his various roles, and to witness firsthand his unwavering commitment to the Y and its mission.
