Legacy Of Beverly's Pete Frates Will Be Honored At Fenway Park In ALS Awareness Game

The Boston College game against the University of Miami is set for April 27.

BEVERLY, MA — The memory and legacy of Beverly's Pete Frates — and his contributions to ALS research through co-founding the Ice Bucket Challenge — will be honored at Fenway Park during the annual ALS Awareness Game.

The game between Boston College — Frates' alma mater — and the University of Miami is set for April 27 at noon.

The game has been played annually in honor of former Boston College baseball captain and St. John's Prep alumnus Pete Frates since his diagnosis in 2012. This year will be the sixth time the game will have been played at Fenway Park.

Frates died in 2019 at the age of 34.

General admission tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

Proceeds will benefit the ALS Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting ALS patients and their families with the cost of specialized home care required for patient stability as the disease progresses.

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
