Bomb Squad Determines 'No Threat' at Beckford Street Home

The State Police Bomb Squad and other public safety agencies executed a search warrant at a Beckford Street home in Beverly on Wednesday.

The State Police Bomb Squad, State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Essex District Attorney’s Office investigated “a possible public safety threat” at a Beckford Street residence on Wednesday afternoon, concluding there was no threat to the public.

Carrie Kimball-Monahan, a spokesman for Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, said a search warrant was executed at a residence on Beckford Street and investigators “determined that there is no threat to public safety.”

The exact address was not released by the Essex District Attorney’s office, but a Beverly police log entry noted that a search warrant was executed by detectives at 38 Beckford St. at 6:09 p.m.

Additional details are scant and “the matter remains under investigation,” according to Kimball-Monahan.

One neighbor told Beverly Patch that he saw a Department of Public Works dumptruck at the home, with investigators using it to “transport gasoline and other liquids” from the residence. A photo of the scene showed the truck backed up to the residence.
