Bootstraps Looks to Restock Pantry Shelves Saturday

Beverly Bootstraps says that as “summer sizzles, donations fizzle,” prompting a food drive on Saturday to restock the food pantry’s shelves.

“The Hunger Never Stops Food Drive” is planned for Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9 a.m.,-noon at Beverly Bootstraps, 371 Cabot St., at the corner of Pickett Street. Donations are also accepted Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

“Please help us keep our pantry shelves stocked by donating unexpired non-perishable food items this Saturday,” Beverly Bootstraps said in an announcement on Friday.

Specifically, Bootstraps says it is need of soup, pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter and spaghettios.

“The end of summer is a time when their pantry shelves are not as full as usual due to a decrease in donations during the summer vacation time,” Bootstraps said. “Your support will be greatly appreciated.”
