Boston to Beverly Train Cancelled During Thursday Evening Commute

For the second time in less than a week, the same train from North Station to Beverly has been cancelled during the evening commute.

The MBTA said that train 69 on Thursday will not run. It is typically scheduled to leave North Station in Boston at 5:55 p.m. and get to Beverly at 6:30 p.m.

In turn, inbound train 72 will also not run and will be replaced by buses. Train 72 typically leaves Beverly at 7 p.m. and gets to Boston at 7:34 p.m.

The cancellation has been attributed to “mechanical problems,” according to the T.

Anyone who was planning to leave Boston on the 5:55 p.m. train is encouraged to take another train, including those leaving from North Station at 5:15, 5:30, 5:40 or 6:15 p.m.

It is the second time in less than week that the train has been cancelled. Last week, on Halloween, train 69 was also cancelled.
