Boston Celtics Honor Beverly's Ava Grant As 'Hero Among Us'
The LGBTQ+ Youth advocate was honored for her social justice efforts during a recent game at TD Garden.

BEVERLY, MA — The Boston Celtics honored Beverly High School senior Ava Grant as a "Hero Among Us" for her LGBTQ+ advocacy efforts during a recent game.
The 18-year-old is active in Beverly and beyond as a proud advocate for the safety and inclusivity of LGBTQ+ students. She has led creative outreach and events as the president of the Beverly High School Human Rights Committee's Gay-Straight Alliance.
The Celtics honored Grant during the first half of the team's "Pride Night" celebration in January during a game against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Celtics' "Hero Among Us" program is in its 25th year recognizing "outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities."
