Car Crash Into Tree Blamed on 'Medical Episode'

A two car crash on Cabot Street on Monday morning was started when a driver had a "medical episode" and the car slammed into a tree.

A “medical episode” caused a two-car crash on Cabot Street on Monday morning that injured a driver.

The crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. near the intersection with Douglas Avenue. Beverly police said the 56-year-old driver from Marblehead was taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash closed a section of Cabot Street, between Conant Street and Dodge Street, for about a half hour while emergency crews worked at the crash.

The driver’s ‘medical episode” meant the driver veered into the curb and then hit a tree and then spun back into the road and hit another vehicle, police said. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
