Carjack Suspect Faces Six Charges

The 23-year-old man charged in Tuesday evening's carjacking along Rantoul Street faces six charges.

Police have named the suspect’s in Tuesday night’s carjacking on Rantoul Street.

Beverly police said they have charged Anthony James Kennedy, 23, of Saugus with breaking and entering for a misdemeanor, carjacking, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating to endanger lives and safety, marked lanes violation and speeding.

Kennedy was still being treated at Beverly Hospital on Wednesday morning and an arraignment time and location had yet to be set.

The carjacking happened just before 5 p.m. along Rantoul Street, when the driver was pushed out of his pickup truck. Kennedy then allegedly fled north on Rantoul Street and later crashed the truck on Elliott Street.
