'Disturbing Drawing' Found At Beverly Restaurant

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department:

Friday, Feb. 22

  • At 1:57 a.m. police were called to Rantoul Street on report of a man sleeping in his vehicle. When police spoke to him, he said he was extremely exhuasted, so police transported him home.
  • A champagne bottle was reportedly thrown through the back window of a vehicle on Parramatta Road at 6:30 a.m.
  • A vehicle was reported stolen on Apple Road at 11:42 a.m.
  • A door to a residence was reported kicked in on Colon Street at 4:32 p.m.
  • At 4:40 p.m. police were called to Heather Street on report of the back door to a business having been kicked in. 
  • At 7:16 p.m. police were called to River Street on report of people loading metal into a pickup truck. Police spoke to the person in question, who was an employee.
  • Police were called to check on a woman well being on Mill Street at 9:42 p.m. Police said there was no basis for the call, and the woman believes someone is harassing her by sending the police to her home.
  • An argument was reported in the street on Eastern Avenue at 10:17 p.m.
  • A break-in was reported on Kernwood Avenue at 10:27 p.m. The break-in was discovered when the caller arrived home.

Saturday, Feb. 23

  • An act of vandalism was reported on Simon Street at 11:36 a.m.
  • Police were called to Grover Street at 1:19 p.m. on report of 'a foul order in the air.' Police said there was no basis for the complaint. 
  • Police were called back to Grove Street at 2:11 p.m. on the same complaint of a bad odor or fumes in the area. The woman told police she smelled some type of noxious odors in her home, but when police did a walk through, they said no odor was detected. When police went in the garage they discovered that one of the vehicles had a strong odor coming from the area. They suggested the car be kept outdoors until a mechanic could look at it.
  • Police were called to Kernwood Avenue on report of a person 'punching a tree' at 7:08 p.m. Police spoke to the individual, who was soliciting and said he became frustrated. Police sent him on his way. 
  • At 9:58 p.m. police arrested Dylan McCarthy, 17, of 53 Winthrop Ave. on warrant charges.
  • Police were called to One Stop Market at 11:22 p.m. on report of an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. Police arrested Theodore Nelson, 47, of 321 Cabot St., on disorderly conduct charges. 

Sunday, Feb. 24

  • A loud house party was reported on Ashton Street at 1:16 a.m. The party was broken up.
  • A domestic dispute was reported on Hale Street at 2:25 a.m. An ambulance was sent to the scene.
  • At 2:09 p.m. police were called to Cygnet on report of a 'disturbing drawing' that had been found. Police said a person reported finding four drawings jammed into the heating vent, which appeared to have been drawn by a child. The pictures were interpreted by the person to depict a dead body laying in kitchen and in the freezer. 
  • At 2:44 p.m. police responded to Western Avenue on report of a domestic disturbance. Police arrested Robert Borders, 27, of 50 Broadway, on assault and battery charges.
