Frates Honored During Jeter Retirement Festivities at Fenway

Beverly native Pete Frates, the man behind the Ice Bucket Challenge this past summer to raise money and awareness for ALS, was an honored guest at the weekend festivities at Fenway Park to honor retiring New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

Frates was part of the pre-game ceremonies that also included Boston sports stars Carl Yastrzemski and Bobby Orr.

Jeter completed the Ice Bucket Challenge in August and mentioned Frates at the time, according to ESPN.
