Local Firefighters Prepare for Fight for Air Climb
Firefighters will climb 789 stairs in Boston in February to raise money for the American Lung Association.

GLOUCESTER, MA – Gloucester firefighters will climb the building at One Boston Place on Feb. 4 to raise money for patients affected by lung disease. The firefighters will climb 789 stairs, up 41 floors and 601 feet.
The Fight for Air Climb is an American Lung Association event hosted in skyscrapers around the country. The Gloucester Fire Department has participated for the past five years, and hopes to raise more than $2,000.
"Many of our fellow brother and sister firefighters have been affected by some form of occupational lung disease. Our department in particular has dealt with loss, that's why we do this," said Firefighter Chad Mota, who is organizing the Gloucester Fire team. "This event is not only a great fundraiser, but also close to all of our hearts."
