'Manchester by the Sea' Showtimes on the North Shore

The movie, filmed primarily in Manchester, has finally made it to the Gloucester Cinema.

MANCHESTER, MA – The movie whose namesake lies just to the north hit theaters on Nov. 18, and has finally made it to the Gloucester Cinema, the closest theater to Manchester.

"Manchester by the Sea," the film directed by Kenneth Lonergan, follows Lee (played by Casey Affleck) as he returns to his hometown to care for his deceased brother's son. The film has a whopping 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has already been named the Best Film of the Year by the Nation Board of Review.

Gloucester Cinema will show "Manchester by the Sea" on Thursday at 7 p.m.; Friday at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9:20 p.m.; and Saturday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 9:20 p.m. You can purchase tickets here. The film is rated R.
