Nick's Roast Beef Co-Owner Sentenced To 2 Years Prison
Nicholas Koudanis was also ordered to pay restitution of $2,042,366 to the IRS.

BOSTON, MA – After pleading guilty to charges of skimming more than $6 million in cash receipts from 2008 to 2013, Nick's Famous Roast Beef co-owner Nicholas Koudanis was sentenced on Wednesday.
Koudanis, 67, of Topsfield, was sentenced to two years in prison, two years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay restitution of $2,042,366 to the IRS. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States by obstructing the IRS and 10 counts of aiding and assisting in the filing of false tax returns in January.
Koudanis' co-owner Nicholas Markos pleaded guilty to the same changes, and is expected to be sentenced in May. The two were accused of skimming more than $1 million in cash receipts every year from 2008 to 2013.

Koudanis and Markos divided the cash receipts every week into what they would deposit into the Nick's Roast Beef bank account, what they would pay suppliers and employees, and what to keep.
Koudanis' wife, Eleni Koudanis, 61, pleaded guilty to five counts of aiding and assisting in the filing of false tax returns, and was sentenced to one year of probation, and ordered to pay the same amount of restitution. Their son, Steven Koudanis, 40, was sentenced to one year of probation to be served in home confinement and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $151,240 to the IRS. He pleaded guilty to one count of endeavoring to obstruct and impede the due administration of the Internal Revenue Laws.

Nicholas and Eleni Koudanis had amassed more than $1.6 million in cash in a safe in their home.
