Quincy Man Charged In Beverly Rest Stop Shooting Monday Night (patch.com) — Residents who use Route 128 through Beverly may want to know that a Quincy man has been charged with armed assault with intent to murder after an alleged shooting at the Beverly northbound rest stop late Monday night. Police and prosecutors say the incident began with a parking lot altercation, then continued onto the highway, where shots were fired at another vehicle; the suspect is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
   

2. Beverly Harbormaster To Take Deep Dive For Lost Fishing Gear (patch.com) — Beverly Harbor is set for its first major cleanup of abandoned or "ghost" fishing gear, led by Harbormaster Peter Dickman and Dive Safety & Training Officer David Caldwell. Backed by a substantial federal grant, the dives will unite local divers, schools, fishermen, and environmental groups to restore marine habitat, support local fisheries, and reduce risks to wildlife right off Beverly’s shoreline.
   

3. Salem Schools, Beverly Learning Centers Awarded $115K In Food Grants (patch.com) — Beverly Children’s Learning Centers have been awarded nearly $30,000 in state MA FRESH funding to expand local food education and healthier meals for local kids, alongside a larger grant to Salem schools. The money can support gardens, hydroponic systems, culinary classes, farm field trips, and staff training to strengthen food literacy and the local food system.
   

4. SHS Winter Sports Roundup: New leadership, high expectations as 2025–26 season begins (advocatenews.net) — Beverly High’s girls basketball team is highlighted as one of Saugus’ toughest Northeastern Conference challengers this winter, alongside Marblehead and Masconomet. The roundup focuses on Saugus’ defending NEC champion girls squad and a Peabody–Saugus–Swampscott boys hockey co-op, outlining key players, new coaches, and expectations for a tightly contested league race.
