Police Called for 'Strange Noises Coming From Basement'

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police log:
Wednesday, Oct. 17
- Police were made aware of a suspicious incident that occured on Berrywood Lane the previous day, at 9:01 a.m. The report stated a man was approaching several residents of the neighborhood asking for money.
- An incident of road rage was reported at 10:29 a.m. on Hilltop Drive.
- At 3:59 p.m. a child on a bike on Charnock Street was reportedly hit by a car.
- A drunk female on Enon Street was reported at 4:20 p.m. She was sent to the hospital.
- Police were called to Essex Street on report of 'strange noises coming from the basement' at 6:05 p.m. It turned out the home entertainment system powered on by itself. Police disconnected power to the system.
- At 7:19 p.m. police arrested William Wood, 30, of Ipswich, on charges of possession of a class b substance (Adderall.)

- Police were called to Goodyear Street at 12:42 a.m. on report of a brother/sister dispute.
- A 1:50 p.m. a woman reported a suspicious male in her front yard on Prides Park.
- Police were called to Cabot Street at 2:58 p.m. on report of a man passed out drunk. Police responded and were going to call an ambulance, but the report states the man 'rebounded' and was sent on his way.
- A man was reported sleeping under a staircase on Rantoul Street at 5:24 p.m. He was transported to Beverly Hospital.
- Police were called to Cabot Street on report of a woman wandering into traffic at 6:16 p.m. Police did not locate the woman.
Friday, Oct. 19
- At 12:59 a.m. police were called to a disturbance on Rantoul Street. The caller, who was reportedly highly intoxicated, said everyone was yelling and screaming at eachother for no apparent reason. The building was quiet when police arrived, and they advised her to get some sleep.
- A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Cabot Street at 10:21 p.m.
- A man was reportedly tasered by police after a two hour standoff on Essex Street at 11:43 p.m.
