Skating Rink Coming to Beverly
Mayor Scanlon announced Endicott College's plan for a skating rink at State of the City address.

Beverly Mayor Bill Scanlon announced during his State of the City address that Endicott College has plans to build a full size skating rink, plus a smaller ice surface on the Endicott campus.
When talking about a list of local initiatives, Scanlon said "this [initiative] really brings a smile to my face."
The city and college are working together to make the facility available to the Beverly community for public skating, youth hockey, public school hockey for both boys and girls and other activities.

Scanlon said he had personally pursued the prospect of a skating rink in Beverly for many years, without success.
"My hat is off to President Wylie and his Board of Trustees for making this important decision which will add greatly to the quality of life in Beverly," Scanlon said.
