Suspect In Murder of Beverly-Based Doctor, Fiancée Arraigned
The suspect in the double murder of two doctors – one of whom worked in a Beverly office – was arraigned on Monday.

BOSTON, MA – The man charged in the killing of two doctors was arraigned in his hospital bed Monday afternoon, recovering from injuries sustained in the ensuing shootout with police. Two not-guilty pleas were entered on behalf of 30-year-old Bampumim Teixeira, who prosecutors said is a former employee of a security firm at the South Boston condo complex where the two bodies were found.
Teixeira was ordered held without bail at his bed in Tufts Medical Center. He is accused of killing Lina Bolaños, 38, and Richard Field, 49, in their 11th floor penthouse condo Friday night. The two victims were engaged to be married.
Field worked at North Shore Pain Management in Beverly. He was remembered in a Facebook post as a "valued member of the medical community and a tremendous advocate for his patients."

Prosecutors alleged Teixeira shot at police responding to a report from Field's friend who received a text pleading for help. Police returned fire, wounding Teixeira. No officers were shot.
Police then discovered the bodies of Bolaños and Field, as well as a backpack "in a remarkably conspicuous area" filled with jewelry that presumably belonged to Bolaños.
Teixeira has a history of attempted bank robberies, The Boston Globe reported.

A motive for the murders remains unclear, but Boston Police Commissioner William Evans believed the parties knew each other.
