Teen Arrested For Assaulting Police Officer With Car
Salem teen arrested on seven charges.

A Salem teen was arrested Monday afternoon, after reportedly assaulting a Beverly police officer with his vehicle.
At 2:17 p.m. on Monday, police arrested Piotr Kociszewski, 19, of 31 Simonds St. in Salem, on two counts of failure to stop for an officer, reckless operation of a vehicle, assault and battery by means of a vehicle, speeding, failure to stop, and a violation of the city's knife ordinance.
Police spokesman Dave Costa told the Salem News the teen was stopped at a stop sign at Bow and Rantoul Street, after an officer smelled marijuana he believed to be coming from his vehicle.

When the officer asked the man to exit his vehicle, police said he stepped on the gas and took off, and in the process, shut his car door on the officer's hand, the outlet reported.
The driver was subsequently arrested by another officer at the Kernwood Bridge.
