Teen Charged In Beverly Shooting Arraigned In Salem Juvenile Court
The 14-year-old appeared in Salem Juvenile Court to face assault with intent to murder charges.
BEVERLY, MA — A teen is facing armed assault with intent to murder charges in connection to a weekend shooting in Beverly.
The Essex County District Attorney's Office said the 14-year-old boy was arraigned in Salem Juvenile Court on the charges on Tuesday, which also include assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, causing serious bodily injury.
One person was flown to a local hospital following the shooting Saturday night, authorities said.

The Beverly Police Department was called to the scene of the reported shooting, which happened at about 7:15 p.m. in the area of Simon Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found a person who was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, police said.
The person was taken to an area hospital by helicopter. Police said it appears the incident was isolated, and there was no danger to the public.

The Essex DA's Office said the incident remains under investigation by the Beverly Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Office of Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker.
