Traffic Alert: Route 1A/ Rantoul Street Project May Schedule

There's a lot of construction going on in Gloucester Crossing this week.

BEVERLY, MA – If you're curious about how the Route 1A project is going, Mayor Michael Cahill is holding two community meetings to update residents on various infrastructure projects. In the meantime, here's what's happening this week and next.

Week of May 1 - May 5:

  • M-Th: Reset curb on Elliott St.
  • Tue-F: Grade sidewalks and driveways on Elliott Street.
  • Tue-Th: Test pit on electric lines at Gloucester Crossing.
  • M-F: Plant tree along Phases 1, 2 and 3.
  • M-Tue: Repair sprinklers and plant sod at Odell Park.
  • M-F: Roadway excavation in Phase 5 section.
  • Tue-Th: Install signal and light conduit crossings in Phase 5 section.
  • Th: Lower manholes and water gate boxes in Phase 6 section.

Week of May 8 - May 12:

  • M: Excavate and install new gate foundation at Gloucester Crossing (Subway).
  • M: Remove existing gate and reset with the new gate at Gloucester Crossing (Subway).
  • M: Test pit on water main at Gloucester Crossing.
  • M-F: Grade sidewalks and driveways on Elliott Street.
  • T: Install signal conduit to signal house at Gloucester Crossing.
  • W: Install drainage under relocated duct bank in front of 313-321 Rantoul St.
  • W: Install PED signal foundation at Gloucester Crossing.
  • M-Tue: Fine grade for paving in Phase 5 section.
  • W-F: Pave base and binder in Phase 5 section.
  • Tue-W: Pulverize roadway in Phase 6 section.
  • Th-F: Roadway excavation in Phase 6 section.
