Train Conductor Calls Police for Fight at Montserrat Depot

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police log:
Wednesday, Oct. 31
- A vehicle was vandalized on Park Street at 8:47 a.m.
- At 9:45 a.m. police were made aware of a suspicious incident that reportedly happened the day before. Police reports stated a man was taking photos of a special education school bus parked in a lot on Sohier Road. When spotted, the man reportedly bolted into the back seat of a waiting van that was parked nearby.
- A man reported hearing a woman screaming for help on Rantoul Street at 12:14 p.m. Police searched the area but did not find the woman in question.
- Police were called to School Street at 5:31 p.m. on report of a man, potentially suspicious, was siphoning gas from a vehicle. The owner told police he got bad gas and was attempting to fix the issue by draining the tank.
- At 8:32 p.m. police arrested Michael Rachmaciej, 29, of 7 Green Street in Everett on charges of disturbing the peace and carrying a dangerous weapon.
- Police were made aware of a vehicle that was missing lugnuts on Thorndike Street at 9:34 p.m. The owner said they may have fallen off, or were maliciously taken.
- Police were called to Montserrat Depot at 11:41 p.m. by a train conductor, on report of a disturbance on the train. The conductor asked police to remove the two people, who were reported to be having a verbal argument and 'spitting'. The two who were removed from the train arranged for other rides home.

- An intoxicated person was placed in protective custody after he was found drunk on Bow Street at 12:02 a.m.
- At 12:12 a.m. police arrested Matthew Whited, 19, of East Falmouth, on charges of disturbing the peace, using a fraudulent RMV ID card and creating a false fire alarm.
- A gas main was struck by construction workers on Tozer Road at 2:24 p.m. Police assisted National Grid in closing the roadway until they were able to cap the leak.
- Police were called to check on a person sleeping in a vehicle on Rantoul Street at 4:27 p.m. Police said the person was fine.
- A group was reported hanging around Colgate Park at 11:13 p.m. Police sent the group on their way.
Friday, Nov. 2
- A person reported receiving several harrassing phone calls on Hale Street at 11:54 a.m.
- Police responded to neighbors fighting on Sohier Road at 2:04 p.m. The argument was reported to be over designated parking spaces. Peace was restored.
