  • A woman called police to report someone was breaking into a Conant Street building on Monday around 3 a.m. Officers didn't find anything in the area, but the woman called back to say that someone broke into the building, was making noise, there are gangs moving into the area, and she's receiving mail with her address and other people's names.
  • Officers responded to a report of a scooter that lost control driving over the grates on the bridge at Bridge Street on Monday around 11 a.m. The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
  • Police responded to a report of a fire in a trash can in an apartment on Manor Road around 2 p.m. Monday. The fire was put out shortly after the call, and officers report minor damage to the apartment.
  • Rob Harlan Bruce, 56, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and violating a city ordinance regarding knives on Tuesday around 2 p.m.
  • A woman reported that she found a used hypodermic needle among the packaging of five bags of diapers purchased from Walgreens on Elliott Street on Tuesday around 11 a.m. The officer that responded to the scene noticed that the bathroom was close to where the diapers were on display, and it's possible someone tried to hide the needle after using it in the bathroom. The store told police it would monitor the bathrooms more closely.
