14 Arrested After Patriots Parade, Including 5 Involved In Fight

Police estimated that 1.3 million fans came out for the Patriots Championship Parade.

BOSTON — Police say by the end of the New England Patriots' championship parade, which had one of the largest crowds Boston has seen for a championship parade, Boston police arrested 12 people and Transit Police arrested two.

Transit Police said they also gave out a court summons and kicked multiple people off the trains for disorderly behavior.

Officer Kim Tavares says that seven of those arrested Tuesday were under the age of 18 and that charges for at least two of them were alcohol-related. She also said seven of the arrests were from people who lived outside of Boston.

Five adults were also arrested after a brawl near the end of the parade route. Tavares said the fight happened mid-afternoon after the parade had ended and didn't seem to be related to the viral video that happened on Salem Street in front of the Chrysanthemum Building that has been making the rounds.

Colin Beatt, who recorded the fight as he and a friend were on their way to grab food, told Patch that although a number of people called 911 about the fight, it broke up and the guys took off before police or EMS arrived.

"The fight ended right after the video ended. The Pats jerseys guys were all down for the count and gave up," he said in a message to Patch. Beatte said he and his friend stayed in the area for about an hour and a half and didn’t see any police or EMS show up.
